Obituary

Angeleah Congdon, 43, of Mason City and formerly of Clarion and Garner, passed away on June 1, 2024, at her home in Mason City.

Memorial services for Angeleah Congdon will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East, in Clarion.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.

Angeleah Irene Congdon was born on May 18, 1981, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Angeleah was adopted by her aunt, Debra Paul in 1982, at age 1.  She was raised and educated in Council Bluffs before relocating to Mason City with her mother in 1996.  The family moved to Garner and Angeleah graduated from Garner Hayfield High School with the Class of 1999.

Angeleah was always artistically inclined, so following high school graduation, she attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.  She went on to create a wide variety of drawings, as well as crafts, such as woven baskets, leather moccasins, over the years, and begin her own design and production company, Fiddlehead, which focused on a variety of handmade purses and totes.

Following her time in Minneapolis, Angeleah returned to Clarion, to be close to her parents, where she worked at Casey’s in Clarion, then later for Team Effort in Clarion, then finally for Farmers Home Publishing in Belmond and Clear Lake.

In addition to her arts and crafts projects, Angeleah loved being outdoors, kayaking and mushroom hunting.  She was an avid animal lover, and she is already dearly missed by her cats, Cocoa and Winston.  More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved daughter, Pixie.  She also created a special bond with her stepfather, Donald Paul, before his death in 2011.

Angeleah is survived by her daughter, Pixie Hart; her mother, Debra Paul, of Clarion; brother Cory (Elsed) Paul and their children, Kendrick and Katelynn, of Altoona; brother Lehi Smith of New London, Minnesota; special lifelong friend, Gabe Kato; her beloved fur babies, Cocoa and Winston; along with numerous other friends and extended family members.

Angeleah was preceded in death by her father, Donald Paul, her biological parents, Joey Darnell and Leon Herriott, her sister Jerry Paul and special aunt, Donna Staats.

In lieu of flowers and other customary remembrances, please consider directing memorial donations to her family to help defray expenses.
