Condolences
I just found out about Corey and am in shock. I’m staying at the La Quinta in Austin and he was always a sweet person. I can’t tell you how many times he came to let me in the exterior doors because they weren’t working with the keycards. He was a genuinely nice person and his passing was too soon.

I just want to extend my sincere sympathy to you at this time of Corey's death. I know how devastating this is and words are quite inadequate. Just know that we are thinking and praying for you. May God's strength and peace rain down on you now. He walks beside you during your grief. In time, your tears will turn into smiles as you recall your memories. There will always be days when the tears still come, but that is because Corey was much loved by you and nothing will change that. Most Sincerely, Connie Eckhoff

Don’t think of him as gone away his journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much. by Ellen Brenneman

I loved Corey like a little brother. Not only was he a band mate but one of my best friends. I'm very fortunate to have spent a lot of time with him before his passing. We even carved pumpkins together a day and a half before he left us. I will never forget Corey Been.

Corey was a light of love in our La Quinta family. We miss him so much. He always had a smile and truly lived his life with kindness. I am blessed to have been considered his friend and coworker. He had many gifts, including his passion and talent to create beautiful music. His greatest gift to our planet was his gift for making people feel valued and respected.
