Obituary
Devery A. Perkins, 60, of Britt, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Ewing Funeral Home, 178 Center Street West in Britt, with Pastor Kay Brooks officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Devery Allen, son of Robert and Marilyn (Quinn) Perkins, was born on July 23, 1963 in Britt. Devery grew up in the Britt area and attended school in Britt.
After high school, Devery worked as a mechanic. He loved tinkering with things and putting things back together. He joined the Iowa National Guard.
On July 22, 2000, Devery was united in marriage to Dawn Heginger in Kanawha. The couple made their home in Britt. They loved going on motorcycle rides and fishing together. They loved each other’s company.
Devery was a kind, loving husband and was good friend to everyone.
Devery is survived by his wife Dawn Perkins of Britt; daughter Michaela Snavley of Palmer; son Jessie Perkins of Ames; step-son Cory Heginger of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter Gabie; grandsons Eli and Noah; brothers Curt (Michelle) Perkins and Bobby (Melissa) Perkins; mother-in-law Darlene Heginger; Dawn’s siblings Carla (Mike) Liska, Allan (Rhonda) Heginger, Barb (Charlie) Bogan; Emily (Ed) Dallman, Fay (Travis) McChesney; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marilyn Perkins; father-in-law Carl Heginger; grandparents; and cousin Danny Perkins
