Edna Mae was born February 20, 1926 on the farm outside of Belmond to August and Anna (Eimbrink) Traeger. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse to the eighth grade then stayed on the family farm until her marriage to Marlin Willey on March 12, 1947. She was a lifelong resident of Wright County and Belmond with a short stay in Clarion in Assisted Living.
Edna Mae enjoyed sewing, quilting and other handy work, gardening and baking. She enjoyed visiting with friends when they'd drop by for a cup of tea and homemade cookies. In the summer months, working outdoors in the garden was her favorite activity. In winter the family enjoyed the fruits of her labor with home grown frozen and canned fruits and vegetables. She was also a member of the Belmond United Methodist Church. For many years she enjoyed being involved with the Women's circle and helped with funeral dinners.
