Judith Kathleen West was born in Jackson, Minnesota, on November 2, 1945.  She was raised and educated in Clarion, Iowa, graduating from Clarion High School with the Class of 1963.

Judy was united in marriage to Jim Morris on June 27, 1964 at the United Presbyterian Church in Clarion.  The couple made their home in Kanawha, where they raised their children and spent their entire marriage, just shy of 60 years.

During her working career, Judy began working as a secretary for Aetna Insurance in Des Moines for two years.  She later worked as a bookkeeper at the lumber yard in Kanawha and later, alongside Jim at their business R&M Plumbing and heating.

Judy enjoyed bowling, doing word search puzzles, having coffee with the ladies, spending time with her good friends (Bonnie, Sherry, Faye, Kaye, Irene, Pat) and playing in couple’s golf outings with Jim.  More than anything, she loved her family, especially shopping for and preparing gifts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for every holiday and birthday.

Judy is survived by her husband, Jim, of Kanawha; children Joel (Joyce) Morris of Traer, Iowa, and Jill (Andy) Johnson of Story City, Iowa; grandchildren Samantha (fiancé Jason Welsch) Morris of Adel, Brandon (Megan) Morris of West Des Moines, Bret (Jennie) Johnson of New Ulm, Minnesota, and Cole (Elizabeth) Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Brooks Johnson, Ivy Johnson, Layne Morris, Theodore Morris, Banks Morris, Emma Johnson, and Franklin Johnson; sister-in-law Rita Thomson of Overland Park, Kansas; along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Viola and Stephen West, sisters Jean and Barb, special cousins Susie and Doug, parents-in-law Alma and Hershel Morris and brother-in-law David Thomson.
