As Karen would always say, “come in, grab something to eat and get comfortable”. So in true Karen style, the family asks that everyone wear whatever makes you comfortable and in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be directed to your local food pantry.
Karen was born August 15th in Algona, Iowa, the only child of Melvin and Lillian (Schmidt) Longseth. She graduated from Twin Rivers High School in Bode, Iowa where she excelled in baton twirling and having fun. When Karen was 15, she was introduced to the love of her life, her soulmate and future husband, Bobby Busick at the Wright County Speedway, NOT where she told her parents she was going that hot summer night.
Karen loved life and being surrounded by family and friends. Her laugh was infectious and she made every gathering, big or small a “party”. She loved to cook, bake, decorate and shop on Amazon and QVC. She was a free spirit and remained young at heart to her very last day.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Donna (Shane Laycock) Busick and Julie (Eden) Cunningham; grandchildren, Anthony (Abbi) Bock, Ciara Bock, Raeanna Busick, Isaiah Busick and Tyson Cunningham; great-grandsons, Mateo Aguirre, Henry and Teddy Bock; sister-in-law, Della Busick; nephews, Steve, John, Warren, Wayne and Mike Busick; and a host of extended family and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Busick; son, Brian Busick; brother-in-law, Ray Busick; and her father-in-law, Bud Busick.
