Pamela Christiansen, 67, of Eagle Grove, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, after her second battle with cancer.
A memorial gathering of Pam’s family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East, in Clarion.
Pamela Sue Cannon was born January 19, 1958, to John and Jacqueline (Kessinger) Cannon in Seattle, Washington. She was the second of five children. The family moved often following her father’s military postings, ending up in Colorado where Pam attended Central High School in Aurora, Colorado.
Pam enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1977 and served until 1991. During that time, she trained new recruits and obtained her Master Training Instructor certification, retiring as a Technical Sergeant. After her military service, Pam spent time living in Greece and Mason City, Iowa before moving to the Eagle Grove area to manage the Kum&Go in Clarion in 2008. During this time, she met Michael Christensen, and they were married July 24, 2010. They made their home on the family acreage outside of Eagle Grove and Pam continued to manage the Clarion store until December of 2024.
Pam had many passions in her life. First and foremost were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When not spoiling or chastising her family, she enjoyed playing pool, racing, and collecting stamps and coins. Pam always loved fast cars and racing; she collected several trophies over the years. In her later years, she enjoyed her Dodge Challenger and the early morning commute that allowed her to “let her baby run”. Pam also treasured her time and friendships from her 20 plus years of pool league, most recently as a member of the team from Chappy’s.
Pam will be remembered for her joy in life and her never ending determination to make the world the way she thought it should be. Her family will always remember her love and her advice, that was given freely whether you wanted it or not.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dale, and her husband, Mike.
Pam is survived by her siblings, John (Sara) Cannon, Julia Kreck, Teresa (Dennis) Topping, Penny Cannon; her daughters, Jackie (Garrett) Schreur, Mariah (Calan) McEldoon; grandchildren, Brooke, Amber, Jonas, Parker and great grandchildren, Adelayaa and Rowan; along with numerous nieces, other relatives and friends.
