Roland Kinseth, 91, of Belmond, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.

Roland Bennie, son of Bernold and Neva (Ohler) Kinseth, was born on February 28, 1933, on the family farm near Alexander. He attended and graduated from Belmond High School.

On March 16, 1951, Rollie was united in marriage to Marian Anderson on her family’s farm in Twin Lake Township. They were blessed with two children, Sherri and Marc.

In November 1952, Rollie joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Shreveport, Louisiana and Fairbanks, Alaska. He was honorably discharged in 1956.

Rollie and his family moved to Decorah for a year. While there, Marian and Rollie ran the Cliff House Restaurant with some friends. They returned to Belmond where they raised their family. In 1966, Rollie and his two brothers, Larry and Roger, along with Roy Cummings, purchased Kinseth Plumbing and Heating in Belmond. After 40+ years, Rollie and his brothers sold the business and retired.

Over the years, Rollie enjoyed golfing. Marian and Rollie would take their kids out for a round of golf as a family on Sunday evenings. They enjoyed fishing and traveling in their motorhome. In his later years, Rollie loved playing cards with his grandchildren and watching ISU football.

On January 4, 2008, Rollie was united in marriage to Marjorie Wilhite at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond. They both had lost their spouses and enjoyed each other’s companionship for the 13 years they spent together.

Rollie is survived by his daughter Sherri Kinseth of Belmond; son Marc (Linda) Kinseth of Arizona; grandchildren Ryan Kinseth of Florida and Hayley Kinseth of California; Marjorie’s children Todd (Rita) Wilhite, Brenda (Brent) DeBerg, and Connie (Clint) Steward and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marian in 2007; wife Marjorie in 2021; and six siblings Kenny Kinseth, Roger Kinseth, Artie Buchanan, Avon Armour, Maxine Dorr, and Larry Kinseth.
