Obituary

Tony Baysinger, 60, of Dows, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at his home in Dows.

Tony’s family is planning a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the Dows Community Center.

Tony was born on May 29, 1963 in Webster City, Iowa, to Orval “Skip” and Rosemary (Risetter) Baysinger.  Growing up, his family made their home in a number of communities around the area.

Following high school, Tony began working in construction, one of his many passions.  He could always be found with a tool of some sort in his hand.  He loved working construction because it gave him the opportunity to work outside.

Tony was united in marriage to Brenda Kriens on September 5, 1995.

Tony also loved cars, whether it was drag racing, wrenching on them, racing R.C. cars, or watching various restoration shows on TV.  He also loved hard rock and heavy metal music, but most of all, he enjoyed spending lots of time with family and friends.  He is also known for his tremendous sense of humor.

Left to cherish Tony’s memory are his wife, Brenda Baysinger of Dows; children: Jessica (Chad) Buseman of Belmond; Cassie Baysinger of New Virginia, Iowa; Shaylee (Matt) Morrell of Des Moines, Iowa; Lacey Baysinger of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mazy Davalos of Dows, Iowa; and Brandon Baysinger of Milford, Iowa; grandchildren: Jessica’s children Kali McFall, Zachary McFall and Autumn McFall; Cassie’s children Lane O’Hair and Kiera O’Hair; Shaylee’s children Hunter Morrell, Eleanor Morrell, and Ruby Morrell; Lacey’s children Gabriel, Robert and Isabel; Mazy’s children Nevaeh, JJ, Paislynn, Mireya and Bentley; Tony’s siblings, Tonia (Mark) Dorr of Waukee, Iowa, Trent Baysinger of Blaine, Minnesota, and Teresa (Paul) Avery of Colfax, Iowa; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other family members, and his many, many friends were what made his world go round.

Tony was preceded in death by his son, James Baysinger, his mother Rose Kepler, his father Skip Baysinger, and his step-father Roger Kepler.
