Obituary
Gene A. Stille, 67, of Goodell, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City after a heart attack.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Goodell Community Hall in Goodell. Gene's family requests casual attire.
Gene Allen was born on September 23, 1956 in Belmond. He was the oldest child of Wayne and Gloria (Burrs) Stille. Gene was a 1975 graduate of Belmond High School.
After farming in his younger days, Gene worked for Hancock County, plowing snow and maintaining secondary roads for 28 years, retiring in September 2022. He also volunteered on the Goodell Fire Department. Gene was proud to be a lifelong resident of Goodell and thought of everyone as a friend.
Gene loved spending time with his family and making people laugh. Grandpa was his favorite title!
Gene is survived by his wife Diana (Stone) Stille; brother Mark (Ginger) Stille; sister Lisa Darner; step-daughter Erin (Joe) States and grandchildren Parke, Dakota, Silvi and Marc; and niece and nephew Cody and Jessica.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Steve “Beaver” and Thomas; and brother-in-law Chuck Darner. He will be missed by his family and friends, and his pet family as well.
