Obituary
Donald “Terry” Rand, 65, of Kanawha passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in Kanawha.
Memorial services for Terry Rand will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the Kanawha Lutheran Church, 124 West Fourth Street in Kanawha, with Pastor Char White officiating.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at the church on Tuesday.
Donald Terry Rand was born January 16, 1951 to Donald and Marlene (Jurgens) Rand in Sumner, Iowa. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1962 where Terry graduated from Widefield High School in 1969. He moved back to Iowa following graduation and began working at Winnebago Industries in Forest City.
Terry was united in marriage with Nola Olson on May 3, 1975 in Forest City, Iowa. The couple made their home in Forest City, and later moved to South Dakota where they spent 20 years in Watertown. Terry and Nola moved to Kanawha in 2000.
Terry worked for Custom Craft in Kanawha and at Eaton Corporation in Belmond before retiring due to poor health.
Terry enjoyed being out in nature, photographing birds and deer, especially at Twin Lakes, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He and Nola made many road trips, including a trip to Colorado on the Harley. Terry was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Terry is survived by his wife Nola of Kanawha; sons Jon Rand of Little Rock, Arkansas and Joe (SueAnn) Rand of Maitland, Florida; granddaughters Kennedy, Addison, Delaney and Calista; parents Marlene (Bill) McCarthy of Aurora, Colorado; siblings Jay, Kelley, Jim, Kathy and Kris, three special uncles Ron, Mac and Den, along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Donald and sister Jan.
