Obituary


Anna (Wampler) Hines, 95, of Clarion, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Memorial services for Anna Hines will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Clarion United Church of Christ Congregational, 121 3rdAvenue North West, in Clarion, with Pastor Craig Luttrell officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Anna (Wampler) Hines, 95, of Clarion, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Anna Marie (Wampler) Hines was born 31st of July 1929 in Nashua, Iowa. The family moved back to Clarion when she was 6 months old in 1930. She attended Clarion School and worked at Rainbow Cleaners before marriage.

She was united in marriage to Bill Hines on November 20, 1948. To this union, they were blessed with three children, Rochelle Carlae, Debra Ann and Billy Dale. She was a stay at home mom helping Bill build two houses.

Ann was a member of the Congregational Church being a faithful member for over 50 years. She served several years on the Wright County election board. She was a charter member of the Wright County Genealogical Searchers and was also a charter member of the Daughters of the American Colony and Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames.

Ann also volunteered as a cub scout leader, campfire leader and served as President of the Hospital Auxiliary for two years.

She is survived by her children; Rochelle Barth, Franklin, TN; Debra (Larry) Nelson, Des Moines, IA; Bill (Cheryl) Hines, Burr Ridge, IL; her niece-daughter Lisa (Russ) Leuschen, Omaha, NE; Nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis; parents Celia (Lord) Bringman and Samuel Wampler; two sisters, Katheryn and Dorothy; and one brother Lewis Wampler.
