Condolences
I first met Ward and Betty at a jam session in Otho. Betty was a genuine fashionista and she gave me lots of inspiration over the years. Betty was such a great friend to me and countless others throughout the years. She never said an unkind word but was always ready with a word of encouragement and support for everyone. Ward and Betty introduced my husband, Richard Schilling, to me at the jam session in Dows, IA on Friday, 13 Jan 2012 and they were our witnesses when we were married on Tuesday, 14 May 2013. We had so much fun together listening to wonderful music at the many jam sessions in Dows and Otho. Ward and Betty had been dear friends to so many throughout the years. In local country music circles, it’s hard to find anyone who didn’t know and love them. After our husbands passed, Betty and I continued to meet whenever we could. I will never forget the beautiful tea party luncheon Kim made for us on her front porch. Kim was always so good to help facilitate our meeting. It was so wonderful to watch the love between this mother and daughter. No one could possibly have more caring, loving children than Kim and John. I will hold all these sweet memories in my heart until I meet my friends in Heaven.
