Brian K. Haugland, 61, of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at his home in Hampton.

Graveside services for Brian Haugland will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East, in Clarion.

Brian Keith Haugland was born September 1, 1963, to Dale and Joyce (Warren) Haugland in Clarion.  He was raised and educated in Clarion, graduating from Clarion High School with the class of 1982.

Following graduation, Brian enlisted in the United States Army, serving 2 years stateside and 2 years in Germany with an engineering group, building roads and bridges.  Following his honorable discharge, Brian worked for 12 years as a civilian contractor with the Civil Service at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, where he was assigned to the commissary warehouse.  He later worked for Lowes, delivering construction materials to jobsites in Alaska.

Brian returned to Iowa in 2016, making his home in Ellsworth, where he worked at Love’s Truckstop for a few years before relocating to Hampton.  He spent the last 5 or so years working for Sukup Manufacturing in Sheffield.

In his youth, Brian enjoyed pheasant hunting with his dad and brothers, and shooting pool.  Later in life, he was more of a homebody, preferring to watch TV and movies, or sitting outside enjoying the weather.  While in Alaska, he did some gold prospecting alongside his brother, Rob.

Mostly, Brian enjoyed visiting with friends and family, giving those closest to him a hard time.

Brian is survived by his brothers, Robert (Mary Jo Salerno) Haugland of Post Falls, Idaho and Steve (Judy) Haugland of Clarion; sister-in-law, Margaret Haugland of Fort Dodge; nephews and nieces, Aaron Haugland, Angela (Jeremy) Fishman, Sabrina Haugland and Leif Haugland; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, and his oldest brother, David Haugland.
