Obituary


Daniel J. Christians,62, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Funeral services for Daniel J. Christians well be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Ewing Funeral Home, 178 Center Street in Britt with Pastor Jason Semans officiating.  Burial will be at Wright Christian Reformed Church Cemetery in Rural Kanawha. 

Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Ewing Funeral Home, 178 Center Street in Britt and will continue one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday.

Daniel James Christians, the son of James and Mavis (Hinders) Christians, was born on June 28, 1962 in Algona, Iowa. Dan grew up in the Wesley area and graduated from Britt High School in 1980.

After high school, Dan enlisted into the United States Army where he served for several years before he was honorably discharged.

Dan was united in marriage to Jesusa Christians and to this union, three children were born. The couple later divorced.

Throughout his life, Dan was an over the road truckdriver, driving for many companies and working from coast to coast before retiring earlier this year. After retiring from being on the road, Dan continued daily hauling for Erpelding Trucking in Algona.

Dan enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and riding his bike. He was very active in ABATE of Iowa and AMVETS Riders Group, where he was Sergeant at Arms. He loved all the group charity motorcycle rides.

Dan will be remembered for being a wonderful son, brother, a great father, and an amazing grandfather. He was a loyal friend and a very reliable man. He will be missed for his loving heart and funny, ornery ways.

Daniel is survived by his mother Mavis Christians of Kanawha; sister Janet Marcuse of Kanawha; Jesusa Christians (ex-wife), children Sara (Chance) McDonald of Joice, Amanda (Josh) Martin of Rockwell City, and Nicholas Christians of Buffalo Center; grandchildren Jayden Christians, Noah Christians, Mavrik Martin, Matthew Navarro, Oliver Christians, Rylan Martin and River Martin along with several extended family and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his father James, and grandson Zander Clancey.
