Dennis Peterson was a role model for me and a friend. I’ll never forget his kindness. The Petersons were essential to the church family at Blairsburg C & MA church. One memory: Every now and then after Sunday night church when I was a teenager, Dennis would slip me a $20 bill and say, ‘Mr. Watne! Heavy on the Mister!’ So fun. His walk with the Lord was an example to me in his delight and joy in our Saviour. His love for Thora was apparent and they were a team. Always together and working. And giving time, money and energy to the things that mattered the most to them. I know Dennis is resting in peace right now, visiting with Thora and many loved ones and friends all in the presence of the Lord. See you soon, Mr. Peterson. Heavy on the Mister.

Dennis was always such a great friend for more than 60 years. I remember when Karen and I were first married, He and Thora made a special effort to extend their love and support for us. Something we don't forget. Now, Dennis is rejoicing with the his Lord Jesus, re united with the love of his life Thora, and I am sure they will both be visiting Karen, my wife as well, who went to be with Lord in October.

One of the coolest and kindest gentlemen I knew in Clarion. He always shared a gentle grin. Prayers to all who loved Dennis. May his soul rest in peace.

Many of my good childhood memories come from the Christian and Missionary Alliance church in Blairsburg, and Dennis is part of these memories. Dennis hired me and my cousins to ride beans during those hot summer days. Thora treated us to a fine lunch and Dennis would let us go to the air conditioned basement to cool down before heading back out to the bean bar. I have memories of missionary cottage meetings hosted at their home, a memory of my parents (Tom and Jan Watne) speaking about the Holy Spirit and even once mowing Dennis’ yard. I am confident in the Salvation I share with Dennis that as a believer and follower of Jesus, we will see each other in the coming resurrection!

Dennis is one of the most genuine men we’ve ever known. His faith left marks of loving Jesus on each of our hearts.
