Obituary
Holger M. Madson, 58, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 1993 at the North Iowa Mercy Health Care Center, East Campus in Mason City, Iowa.
Holger, the son of Hans Martin and Eleanora (Fredrickson) Madson, was born September 10, 1934 at Britt, Iowa. He received his education in the Britt Schools and graduated in 1952.
He was united in marriage to Carol Menke on January 19, 1957 at Ledyard, Iowa. The couple made their home in Britt. He served in the U.S. Army from April 1957 to 1959. Following his discharge from the service, he worked at the Britt Farmer's Co-op for 34 years.
He was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Britt Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years just retiring this year. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, and the West Hancock High School Booster Club.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Madson of Britt, Iowa; two sons: Chris of Britt, Iowa and John at home; seven daughters: Noreen Madson, Moni and her husband Mike Muth, Cari and her husband, Keith Formanek, Connie Madson, Cathy and her husband, John Weiland, Cindy Madson all of Britt, Jean and her husband, Steve Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; four sisters: Eunice Wyatt of Britt, Iowa, Rhonda Glenn and her husband, Lyle Ludeke of Sandston, Virginia, Beaulah and her husband, Ted Rumeliote of Mason City, Iowa, Grace and her husband, Ted Sible of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; a special cousin, Jeri and her husband, Jim Beshey of Glencoe, Minnesota; ten grandchildren: Marilee, Mitch, Mark, Michael, Matthew Muth, Nick Schmidt, Taylor Formanek, Sarah and Emily Miller, Timothy Brown and many loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
