Obituary


Jane Darlene (Hiscocks) Nielsen, 57, passed away Friday, March 19, 1999 at North Iowa Mercy Health Care Center in Mason City, Iowa.

Jane, the daughter of Robert and Mavis (Rapp) Hiscocks, was born November 5, 1941, in Britt.  She attended school in Britt, and graduated from the Britt High School in 1960.

Jane was united in marriage with Dale Nielsen on July 12, 1958 in Britt.  The couple made their home in Britt, where Jane worked for a time at Purina Feeds.  She also worked as a housewife and mother.  Jane and Dale purchased J & D Hob Nob on September 1, 1979 and have run the business as a family ever since.

Jane enjoyed playing softball, bowling and going dancing.  She enjoyed the time spent at the cabin in Lake Jefferson, Minnesota.  Playing with her grandchildren was one of her greatest loves.  She truly loved her family.  Jane enjoyed sharing many special times with them at barbecues, weddings and outings.

Jane was a member of First Lutheran Church, Rebekah, and Britt Jaycees.  She was also the treasurer for the Britt bowling league, the Britt Bowlerettes.

Jane is survived by her husband, Dale; two daughters: Robin Bartlett and her husband, Steve of Wesley, Amy Richter and her husband, Scott of Britt; one son, Dean Nielsen and his wife, Ginger of Britt; six grandchildren: Samantha, Olivia, Kassie, Jayne, Devin, Mariah; two sisters: Bonnie Doughan and husband, Gene of Pequot Lakes, Minneasota and Judy Becker and husband, Mike of Forest City; five brothers: Bill Hiscocks and wife, Irene of Garner, Donnie Hiscocks and wife, Gloria of Britt, Monte Hiscocks and wife, Kay of Britt, Dean Hiscocks and wife, Marie of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Jon Hiscocks of Britt and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mavis and Robert; twin sons Kim and Kevin, sister Nancy, two brothers, Alan and Robert and one grandchild, Abigial Marie Bartlett.
