Obituary
Jerry D. Roush, 67, of Clarion passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.
Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
Jerry Dean Roush, the son of Larry and Kay (Barnes) Roush, was born June 24, 1958, in DeRidder, Louisiana. He grew up in Ottumwa and graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1976.
He continued his education at the University of Minnesota-Crookston, where he earned his degree in Marine Biology. He later worked for the Department of Natural Resources at the Rathbun Fish Hatchery, a role that perfectly blended his education with his lifelong love of the outdoors.
A true outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. Nothing meant more to him than watching his sons play sports, whether from the stands or from the dugout as a dedicated Little League coach. In quieter moments, he enjoyed playing cards and sharing stories — especially about his favorite fishing spots, which he seemed to know better than anyone.
He is survived by his sons Kyle (Chrissy) Roush and Kris (Kylie) Roush; grandchildren Ayden, Lealand, Peyton, Tiffany, Zachary, Lukas, and Brooklyn; sister Denise Roush; along with extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
