Kimberly moved to Kanawha, Iowa in 1988 where she began a career as a cashier at the Pronto gas station. She continued her career as a cashier at Casey’s for more than 25 years.

Kimberly and Daniel were blessed with their first child, Daniel James Martinez Jr. on June 18, 1990. They were blessed with a second child, Cassie Lee Martinez on July 20, 1992. Kimberly’s children were her pride and joy.

Kimberly was an avid board game player. She enjoyed challenging her family to games of Dominoes, Scrabble, and Yahtzee. She also loved completing puzzles, crosswords, and logic problems. For many years she would travel out regardless of the weather to play BINGO. She also enjoyed trying her chances with scratch tickets.

Kimberly was overjoyed as each of her grandchildren were added into the family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She would go on frequent golf cart rides or sit on the swings with any one of her five grandchildren.

When Kimberly wasn’t creating memories with her grandchildren, she could be found watching one of her favorite sports teams. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Baltimore Orioles. She always looked forward to March Madness with her husband, Dan. When unable to watch sporting events, Kimberly enjoyed the Young and the Restless, in which she never missed an episode.

Kimberly looked forward to her daily chats with her daughter, Cassie while Cassie drove home from work. She also planned her schedule around making sure she had coffee ready and waiting for her husband Dan when he returned from a long day at work. Kimberly loved her family above all else.
