Brenda, Cody, Hannah, Emily, and Nicki. I am profoundly saddened by Lyle's sudden passing. I want you to know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I enjoyed serving with Lyle the 10-11 years as his pastor. His sense of humor, witty sayings and joyful personality and love for the Lord was and is a blessing to all of us who know and love him. You all will see Lyle again on the last day when Jesus comes. Know that the Lord is with you in this difficult time. God Bless. Pastor Mark Peterson

Lyle and I have been friends since about 2nd grade. We both loved sports and played them in the yard, the barn, the living room or whatever was available. The Kapkas had a basketball hoop in the hay mow of the barn and we played hours of basketball there. However, the one or two light bulbs hanging way up high made it hard to see. No wonder Lyle was such a good shooter, he learned how to shoot without ever seeing the basket! Our lives took different paths to different places, but our friendship was a rock that was always there whenever we saw each other. With all my heart I will miss this beautiful soul.
