Obituary


Mervin K. Levorson, 83, of Clarion, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024 with his wife, Nancy, by his side at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

Mervin Keith, son of John and Elma (Hagen) Levorson, was born on July 8, 1941 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Mervin grew up in Lake Mills where he attended Somber Lutheran Church School until 6th grade and then attended Lake Mills High School.

Mervin drove truck and was a trainer for Smithway in Fort Dodge and drove truck for Ennis Corp. in Clarion. While working at Ennis, Mervin met Nancy. They married on March 13, 2013 at the Little Brown Church. He always said the best thing he ever did was marry Nancy!Mervin loved the American Frontier. He enjoyed collecting Western memorabilia and building American cowboy and Native American life-size displays. Mervin enjoyed traveling out west to Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota.

Mervin is survived by his wife Nancy Levorson; sister Ila Mae Anderson; children Monica Gordan, Kevin (Carry) Levorson, and Darren (Beccy) Levorson; step-children Mathew (Jenn) Berry and Valerie Berry; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Donna Willis; and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Elma Levorson; brother Morris Levorson; and father-in-law Garth Willis.
