On June 18th, 2025 Michael Nathan “Hud” Hudson motorcycle enthusiast, loving husband, father, brother, and awesome papa took his final ride. "Hud" passed away doing what he loved.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Ewing Funeral Home, 178 Center Street West in Britt.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Michael was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 19th, 1958 to Bill and Sandra Hudson. Being joined by a younger brother Mark, eventually the family moved to Britt, Iowa where he grew up and attended school. He furthered his education by attending motorcycle mechanics school, earning a two-year degree.

Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. After being discharged, he became one hell of a pool builder traveling to places such as Bermuda. He worked various jobs doing whatever was needed. If there was anything to be done, he would make it happen no matter the task. Mike enjoyed knowing he could be of help to ANYONE!

EVERYONE who knew Micheal knew him as “Hud”. He was very passionate about motorcycles and loved his Panhead more than he loved life itself! As soon as he was discharged from the Navy he bought his 1959 panhead right off the showroom floor and it had been with him ever since. The hours he spent working on that bike whether it be in the kitchen with bike parts scattered all over the countertop or out in the shed, you would always find him working, riding, or KICKING that Panhead. Who else do ya know that had 3 top ends and 2 bottom ends on a bike? He sure did have some miles on that pan!

Michael was known for always having pliers on him, he loved hunting, watching old Western movies, collecting "treasures", and putting ketchup on everything.

Michael was a loving, caring man. He had so much love to give. All one had to do was spend a moment in his presence, and you would know this to be true. He took pride in being a papa. He was a family man inside and out. For example, in the last year, he couldn’t spend enough time with his youngest granddaughter, Lyrik. He would flood his friends with pictures while traveling many miles to see "his twins" Maximus and Gunnar and attended local softball games of Kaylen and Kenzie. He was proud of all of his children and grandchildren. This is including Micheal’s son Bryant Newby (Joelle) and their children  Kaylen and Kenzie, daughter Kyra Newby and her twins Maximus and Gunnar, daughter April Smith and her children Katie, Megan, and Brayden, daughter Cynthia Ballard (Chase) and their children Cyerra, Chloe, and Callie, daughter Alisa Glass and her children Zsofia, Benjamin, and Loretta, daughter Alicen Phelps (Corey) and their son Sebastian, daughter Hailey Kabrick (Spencer) and their daughter Lyrik, son Dillion, son Stone, and son Steel.

Michael married the love of his life, Teresa in 2015 opening his arms and heart to her and her children. He and Teresa have known each other since 1996. They have lived together in Kanawha Iowa for the past 15 years. Anyone that had a conversation with him about his wife, knew how much he absolutely adored her. He made it very clear how he felt about "his baby". Being together as a family was what Micheal loved most whether it was singing songs in the kitchen, camping, or having cookouts. Mike, took time, especially in the last few years, to spend time with family, it was important to him! He came to understand that life is fragile and time is borrowed.
