Obituary


Milo “Mike” Berhow, 92, of Belmond, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Milo Sanford Berhow, son of Alvis and Tillie (Severson) Berhow, was born on October 25, 1930 at home in Kanawha. Mike graduated from Goodell High School in 1949. He joined the Navy, where he served during the Korean Conflict in the boiler room on the USS Jenkins.

He was united in married to Arlene Johnson on February 19, 1955. He started faming in 1955 for Tyrrell Farms and then helped the Nelson brothers farm in the spring and fall for a number of years.

Mike enjoyed farming, his John Deere tractor, fishing, hunting, races, and his family time.

Mike is survived by his three children Les and wife Peggy, Julie and partner Darv Peters, and Craig and wife Kim; four grandchildren Shaina, Kelsey, Cody and wife McKenna, Alyssa and husband Grant; three great-grandchildren Trent, Hayden, and Bristol; one sister Thelma; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; wife Arlene of 56 years; two infant sons Wesley and Jay; 7 sisters Viola, Alva, Ina, Orpha, Ardith, Delores, and Marlys; brother Bud; and grandson Derrick.
