Pamela Jean Chapman was born June 26, 1965, to Carroll and Donna (Spitler) Reiland in Clarion, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Clarion, graduating from Clarion High School with the Class of 1983.

Following high school, Pam worked at Four Sons in Clarion and at C&R Buick. She was united in marriage to Chris Chapman on May 24, 1986, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion. The couple made their home in Clarion, and later, in Ankeny.

Pam began attending Iowa Central Community College in 1987, and then, Iowa State University, where she graduated after studying Biology and Environmental Science. She worked for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in Okoboji for 8 years before accepting a job at the Wallace Building in Des Moines. For the past 7 years or so, she worked for the United States Department of the Treasury.

Pam and Chris enjoyed spending time together and with their families, especially their nieces and nephews. They would often be treasure hunting at flea markets, auctions, garage sales and estate sales. Eventually, their business “Too Many Auctions” began setting up booths at flea markets and events, selling some of the items they would collect.

Pam always loved being outdoors, whether duck or deer hunting, or camping at Okoboji, hanging out with family and friends was a favorite pastime. In recent years, the couple would do some extensive traveling, most notably to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and on a Viking River Cruise in Germany.

Pam was a lifelong Catholic, and was a true Christian: always willing to help another person in need, even at her own expense, by paying it forward whenever she was able.

Pam is survived by her husband, Chris, of Ankeny; siblings Gene (Gina) Reiland of Eureka, Illinois, Steve (Karleen) Reiland of Clarion, Brenda Reiland of Iowa Falls, and Tom (Julie) Reiland of Ankeny; siblings-in-law, Jeff (Danna) Chapman (Danna) of Boone and Mary Beth (Edward) Hammen (Edward) of Clarion; along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents.
