I am very sorry for your loss. Anytime I saw him, he was so nice and polite. He graduated with my mother (Leona Anderson) in 1958. Again, my sympathies. I will be thinking of your family.

Richard and I have been friends for many years, from Junior High through High School in Clarion, Junior College in Earle Grove and in college at Cedar Falls. We were in 4-H and FFA together and enjoyed the many happy times. We stayed in contact after college, since I went into the Air Force and moved around. W would get together whenever we could, in Nashua and then Clarion to play cards and catch up on our work and family. Even after retirement we visited when ever we could. I’ll truly miss Richard but will still keep in touch with Judy.

The very best teacher I had in Clarion. And the bar was high as there were many extremely talented educators then. He taught not only the sciences but also would listen to you and used the Socratic method to help you get you through to the right decision (I wasn’t aware of it back then). Over the years I never passed up an opportunity to let him know how incredible I thought he was and how he impacted my future. He lived his life as an example of the saying “ when you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced, live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice” My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Mr Pletcher was an inspiring teacher, my all time favorite. I took all his classes and never wanted to let him down. He always had a positive attitude and made you want to learn. Thousands of students were blessed to have such an amazing educator cross our paths. Rest in Peace Mr Pletcher!!

Mr. Pletcher was the most amazing teacher and one of the best teachers of my lifetime. Everyone has that teacher in high school that really was amazing. He could connect with the students, he was funny and we really learned from him. Not just what he was teaching but also in life. Prayers to him and his family. He was a great person!

Had him as a teacher like many of you would recall. In fact he was one of my favorites. Even after graduation if you seen him around town he was so kinda and friendly asking how you were, and what you were up to now. It was teachers like him that made school worth going to. May his stories be plenty as you gather to celebrate his life!
