Robert Ervin Zeigler, the son of Irving and Anna (Olthoff) Zeigler, was born on September 7, 1948, in Belmond, Iowa. He grew up in Kanawha and graduated from Kanawha High School in 1966. During high school, Robert played all four sports, lettering all four years in football and was proud of his time on the field. It was also there that he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Linda Omvig. They were married on October 1, 1966, at Kanawha Lutheran Church.

Robert worked various jobs throughout his life, but they all centered around his love of farming. He began at the Kanawha Elevator, later farmed, and then worked at Winnebago Industries. In recent years, he especially enjoyed driving truck and farming alongside his friend Larry Anderson.

Robert and Linda raised their family in Kanawha until her passing in 2009. He enjoyed being part of the community and liked helping keep it looking nice, whether through his small lawn business or by lending a hand when needed. Through the years, he met Diane Omvig and enjoyed her companionship for the past 13 years. They liked going out for dinner and drinks with friends.

Most of all, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. He was always willing to lend a hand and quietly help wherever he could.

Robert is survived by his children Melanie (Terry Lottie) Zeigler, Joel (Sarah) Zeigler, and Pamela Holden; grandchildren Joshua (Kaitlin) Zeigler, Suzie Lottie, Shelby Zeigler, Sydney Lottie, Zachary Zeigler and Cole Holden; great-grandchildren Charlotte Zeigler, Jayson Clark, and Sage Zeigler; companion Diane Omvig; siblings Marj (Jerry) Tripp, Betty Davis, Diane (Jerry) Ebersviller, Gary (Nancy) Johnson and Marvin (Marlys) Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, his parents, parents-in-law Arthur and Marjorie Omvig and step-father Carl Johnson.
