Roger was the man I would meet at night. I worked overnight at the Britt hospital. He was always cheerful and told the best jokes. He was always happy to see you and never had an unkind word. I will truly miss him. God bless Rickee, Dr Chris and Mike. You are all in my prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. Roger and you Rikki were always so much fun at the lake. Watching Coop and Roger hang out at the lake was always entertaining. My family’s thought and prayers are with you💕

We will miss Roger. What a kind and caring gentleman. I was so impressed with his dedication to providing special ceremonies for Vietnam Veterans.

We’re going to miss Roger so much. He was an amazing man with such high spirits. I will always remember when we would visit my grandparents, my son, River, would always run next door to say hi and give Roger a hug. Praying for the whole family.

Roger and I were best of friends growing up in Duncombe, ia. We were backyard neighbors. We had many good times together. May he rest in peace.

Roger got me started in my career of funeral service while I was in high school in Britt. I have always told many that he was so instrumental in helping me get started in a positive way of serving the public. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family Matt Melby

Years ago, when I worked at the Britt News-Tribune, Roger would many times (if he wasn't busy) come over to our office and have coffee and shoot the breeze with us. We enjoyed hearing his stories as well as his take on local events. He was NEVER too busy to say hello and chat. He was a good guy and will be missed. He left a wonderful legacy and his name will live on with all the many wonderful memories.

To Rickee, Chris, Mike and family. Tracy and I offer our deepest sympathy to all. Rickee and Roger were like a second set of parents anyone could ask for. Tracy and I enjoyed their exciting character when we were together at any time. Roger was my encouraging mentor when I started my business nearly 30 years ago and those words of encouragement continued until the day he passed. We always enjoy talking to all of you. Roger will be missed by several. Please take care and call or stop by at any time. You're always welcome. I truly will miss you Roger as a friend and neighbor. You were always fun and enjoyable to be with. Brian and Tracy Riekens

Dear family of Roger, I’m so sorry to read this and pray God will comfort you. Roger was “extremely” kind to our family when our son was killed in 2000. I officiated many services w/Ewing FH and truly pray you are all well.
