Obituary
Ronald L. Dirks, 85, of Emmetsburg, Iowa passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the Emmetsburg Carer Center in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Meservey Cemetery with military honors.
Ronald, the son of Louis and Tena (Boelman) Dirks was born August 5, 1940, in Meservey. He attended school in Thornton. Ronald entered the United States Army in 1965.
Following his discharge from the Army he moved back to Thornton where he was employed by various companies including Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa, retiring on July 13, 2002.
Ronald is survived by his daughter Debra Dirks of Morristown, Minnesota; his son Bruce Dirks and wife Martha of Fairmont, Minnesota; four grandchildren Loran Hanson, Brooke Pierce, Tony Strayer, Erin Strayer; three great-grandchildren Aidian Hanson, Remington and Wesson Pierce; two brothers Jim and his wife Nancy of Clear Lake, Iowa, John and Cindy of Mason City, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Scott, three brothers, two sisters, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law.
