Rose Meinders

Rose (Hiemstra) Meinders, 93, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Burial will take place at Norway Township Cemetery. Click the following link to watch the funeral live stream. https://meet.goto.com/359406045

Rose Delores (Hiemstra) Meinders, the daughter of Hubert and Inez (Crawford) Hiemstra, was born September 23, 1931 in Meservey, Iowa. Her family later moved to a farm north of Clarion where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Clarion High School in 1949.

On October 20, 1949, Rose was united in marriage to Adolph Meinders at the Methodist Church parsonage in Clarion. The couple raised their six children on the family farm where Rose helped Adolph farm for 60 years.

Rose was a faithful member of the Clarion Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a part of the Methodist Women’s group. She enjoyed cooking, her fruit trees and tending to her large garden.

She is survived by her children Thea Chambers of Eagle Grove, Rick (Margaret) Meinders of Idaho, Adrell Meinders of Clarion, and LeAnn Hubbard of Utah; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Adolph, her sons Robert and Dean Meinders.
