Rose Mary (Rosie) Eden Fox, 76, of Britt, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2002, at her home in Britt.
Rose Mary (Rosie) Eden Fox was born May 4, 1926, at Ogden, Iowa to Wallace and Mary (Porter) Nylander. She received her education in the Ogden and Britt schools, graduating from Britt High School in 1944. She married Earl Eden on November 10, 1945. They lived in California until he was discharged from the Marine Corps. Following his discharge, they returned to Iowa and farmed at Ventura and Rockford before moving to the home place northeast of Kanawha in 1952.
She was the local Avon Lady for 28 years, in addition to helping with farm work and livestock. After Earl quit farming and became a contractor they spent the winters in Mercedes, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. Earl passed away in 1988. Rose Mary later worked for her son Bob at Jones Machinery and worked at Casey's, both in Britt.
Rose Mary married Lewis Fox in 1993. The couple loved to travel. Lewis passed away in 2002.
She was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church for many years where she taught Sunday School. She was currently a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt.
Rosie is survived by her son, Robert E. Eden and his wife, Laurie of Britt; two grandsons, Allen and his wife Jennifer of Clear Lake and Brian of Clear Lake; sister Janis Enfield of Mesa, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Dona Clapsaddle and her husband, Lyle of Mason City and Carol Sutton and her husband, Earl of Mission, Texas; three stepchildren, Richard Fox and his wife, Linda of Mansfield, Texas, Jan Klaas and her husband, Dave of State Center, and Becky Wegner of Britt; eight step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Earl Eden and Lewis Fox and infant son.
