Rosetta Marie "Rosie" Kaffar Pals passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, at her home in Safety Harbor, Florida at the age of 100. Born on December 17, 1923, in Worthing, South Dakota, Rosie's century of life was marked by dedication, service, faith and the joy of family.

Rosie's formative years in Worthing instilled in her the value of education. After completing high school, she pursued her passion for nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse from McKennan School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, SD. Her bravery and commitment to caring for others was further exemplified when she served her country with honor in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II in 1945.

Upon her discharge, Rosie continued her nursing career in Belmond, IA, where she met and married Roy Pals and raised their eight children. After tragically losing Roy in 1970, she courageously relocated to Safety Harbor, FL in 1979.  She continued her fulfilling nursing career in Florida until her retirement after working over 50 years. Rosie's deep Catholic faith guided her through every challenge and triumph.

In retirement, Rosie relished time spent with family and actively volunteered in various ministries at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church. Rosie was the cherished matriarch of a family that spanned generations, including her late husband, Roy Pals, her adoring children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Her legacy is carried on by her children, Kathy Fuller (Greg), Linda Boller, Patsy Rockow (Paul), Tim Pals, Janyne Lowenberg (Dennis), Jeff Pals (Tracy), Charlie Pals (Donna), and Christopher Pals, along with her cherished grandchildren Katie, Geoffrey, Peter, Casey, Laura, Stefanie, Benjamin, Allison, Natalie, Shane, Jill, Eric, Jaclyn, and Charlie Jr, as well as her 25 great-grandchildren. Though she was the last of her siblings, she remained a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Rosie faced life's challenges with a courage that inspired, a faith that sustained, and a love that transformed. In her memory, let us all strive to live with the same courage and love that defined her remarkable century on this earth.
